Phonetic Speaker Id

چکیده
This paper describes the exploration of text-independent speaker identification using novel approaches based on speakers’ phonetic features instead of traditional acoustic features. Different phonetic speaker identification approaches are discussed in this paper and evaluated using two speaker identification systems: one multilingual system and one single language multiple-engine system. Furthermore, textindependent speaker identification experiments are carried out on a distant-microphone database as well as gender identification experiments are investigated on the NIST 1999 Speaker Recognition Evaluation dataset. The results show that phonetic features are powerful for speaker identification and gender identification.

New release of Mixer-6: Improved validity for phonetic study of speaker variation and identification
The Mixer series of speech corpora were collected over several years, principally to support annual NIST evaluations of speaker recognition (SR) technologies. These evaluations focused on conversational speech over a variety of channels and recording conditions. One of the series, Mixer-6, added a new condition, read speech, to support basic scientific research on speaker characteristics, as we...
متن کاملPhonetic Speaker Recognition
The aim of this study is to answer two questions regarding the use of phonetic information for speaker modelling. We formulate answers for (1) what are the discriminative powers of broad phonetic classes for the task of speaker identification? (2) Are the phonetic speaker models more suitable for speaker recognition than standard models?
متن کاملSpeaker Recognition and Broad Phonetic Groups
The aim of this study is to provide a quantitative assessment of the speaker discriminating properties of broad phonetic groups. GMM based approach to speaker modelling is used in conjunction with a phonetically handlabelled speech database (TIMIT) to produce broad phonetic group ranking based on speaker identification scores. The broad phonetic groups nasals and vowels were found to be particu...
متن کاملOn the Relationship between Phone Phonetic Speaker Recog
Speaker recognition techniques have traditionally relied on purely acoustic features and models. During the last few years, however, the field of speaker recognition has started to show interest in the use of higher level features. In particular, phonetic decodings modeled with statistical language models (n-grams) have already shown its effectiveness in several research works. However, the rel...
متن کاملASR dependent techniques for speaker identification
Traditional text independent speaker recognition systems are based on Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs) trained globally over all speech from a given speaker. In this paper, we describe alternative methods for performing speaker identification that utilize domain dependent automatic speech recognition (ASR) to provide a phonetic segmentation of the test utterance. When evaluated on YOHO, several o...
